5th Annual Nightforce ELR Steel Challenge

Congratulations to Jorge Ortiz! The winner of the 5th Annual Nightforce ELR Steel Challenge, which was held June 13-14th at Tillard 55 Ranch in Glenrock, WY. All of the proceeds will be donated to The Special Forces Association Scholarship Fund. All participants will receive a Velcro Unicorn patch. The target is a unicorn at 1952 which is the year the Special Forces (OSS) was founded.

Jorge, a US veteran with bilateral above the knee amputee, outshot 200 competitors shooting 75 targets from 720 yards to 2,091 yards in extreme conditions.

With his impressive win, Jorge was awarded a Barrett MRAD in 6.5 Creedmoor. We would also like to congratulate the other winners of this divisional event which are listed below.

Barrett® Awarded USSOCOM ASR Contract

Murfreesboro, TN: U.S. Department of Defense announced Monday, March 11th, 2019, that Barrett Firearms Manufacturing Inc. has been awarded the contract for ASR (Advanced Sniper Rifle) in support of the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) with its MRAD (Multi-Role Adaptive Design) Rifle. USSOCOM announced in 2016 they were in search of a modular, multi-caliber bolt action sniper rifle capable of converting between 7.62x51mm, .300 Norma Magnum (NM) and .338 Norma Magnum (NM) through a “full and open competition.” The Barrett MRAD is designed with precision and modularity in mind and will serve the U.S. special operations teams in their efforts. “I remember Chris telling me that ‘this is what all precision rifles will look like one day!’ and he was right. However, aesthetics is not all that makes this rifle; as his development persisted, he was able to achieve more than I ever thought possible. I genuinely believe this is the most accurate rifle in the world.” Ronnie Barrett, Founder and CEO. Barrett to Supply .50 Caliber Long Range Sniper Rifles to US Army

Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, Inc. has been awarded an $8 million contract for the procurement of M107A1, M107, and M82A1M, Caliber .50 Long Range Sniper Rifle systems with scopes, suppressors and spare parts kits.

The work is expected to be completed by Nov. 26, 2023, the United States department of defense said in a statement Tuesday.

The M107A1 model comes with Lightweight aluminum upper receiver with integral 23″ (58.4 cm) 27 MOA M1913 optics rail, 20″ (50.8 cm) or 29″ (73.7 cm) barrel with fully chrome-lined chamber and bore, 10-round steel magazine with cartridge witness indicators, and anti-corrosive coating.

Barrett Announces Maintenance Contract for the US Army Long Range Sniper Rifle

Barret Firearms Manufacturing, Inc. has won a $3.3 million maintenance contract for the US Army issued M107, Caliber .50 Long Range Sniper Rifle system. The 5-year ID/IQ contract was awarded November 27, 2018 and will be available through November 26, 2023. The M107 Rifle System has been fielded by the US Armed Forces for over 15 years.

New 416 Barrett Ammo Now Available

Barrett is pleased to announce production of our new 416 Barrett ammo. The new match grade ammo is loaded with a 452 gr MTAC Cutting Edge Bullet which has a much higher ballistic coefficient (G1 .83/ G7 .42) than our previous bullet. We are also proud to announce that the C.I.P., an international organization that sets standards for the safety of firearm testing, has approved it. The match grade brass is made by RUAG, the prized maker of match 50 BMG brass. This match grade brass has concentric necks with uniform wall thickness which give more consistent neck tension. Loading was done with Alliant Reloader 50 powder which is known for clean burning and is less sensitive to case capacity. The RWS primer burns more consistent and aids in bumping down the velocity to 3005 fps. While combining all of these traits with Barrett standards, a shooter will have sub MOA performance capable of hitting targets well beyond 2500 yards, making it ideal for extreme long range shooting. The 452 gr MTAC ammo is available in a 10 round box and 80 round cases. In addition to that,Barrett also offers new primed, new unprimed, and once fired brass for purchase on our web store.
