Webb said, “Barrett Firearms for the past two-years has been our number one statewide supporter generating approximately $75,000 for our programs that benefit Junior ROTC, 4-H Clubs, Boy Scouts, law enforcement, youth hunts and the Eddie Eagle gun safety course.  In Tennessee, 518,650 children have completed the Eddie Eagle GunSafe® Program.”

Webb added, “In 2010, Barrett Firearms helped us raise $32,400 and this year –2011—Barrett was responsible for creating $42,350 for Tennessee Friends of NRA.  Barrett Firearms’ efforts accounted for almost half of the dollars raised in the statewide supporter initiative.”

In addition to the statewide supporters, Tennessee Friends of the NRA overall raised nearly $400,000 this year through annual meetings across the state, local donations, underwriters and sponsors.

Telephone calls come to Barrett almost daily with a question.  Do you offer public tours?  Since Barrett is a closed shop with security issues and production schedules to meet, the answer is “no”.

Because of the widespread interest in how the Barrett products are manufactured, company founder Ronnie Barrett decided last year to offer a few select number of tours to benefit charities, primarily Friends of the National Rifle Association since Barrett is on the NRA Board of Directors.

The result from the first year of charitable tours generated over $50,000 for educational programs for youth in shooting safety, and for non-profit organizations such as Domestic Violence, Wounded Warrior, Yellow Ribbon and others.

In 2011, donations to charitable causes should exceed $100,000 through private tours at Barrett Firearms. Those taking the tour are shown how raw product enters the building and turned into a world-famous Barrett rifle.

To date, our factory tours have generated $44,750 for the Friends Chapters across Tennessee with more yet to be sold.  With these tours and others that we’ve given, Barrett will create over $100,000 this year for charity through our tours.

Monday, 8 August 2011, the Outdoor Channel along with former MLB player Matt Duff and world-champion shooter Jessie Abbate came to our facility to interview Ronnie about his support of the program.
